Air washers are electrical appliances with an air filtration system. A suitable air washer can remove smog components such as PM2.5, dust, volatile organic compounds (formaldehydes), oxides, as well as almost all allergens, bacteria and viruses. Users of the air washers also report a significant reduction in the amount of dust in their homes.
The air washer is designed to provide "clean air" in the environment. Most of us spend much time at home, in the office, or in any other premise. Regardless of which room we are in, mites, viruses, bacteria, dust, animal dander, blossom dust, fungal spores, volatile organic compounds and microscopic dust (including the highly hazardous PM2.5 fraction) are everywhere. Being in such rooms, breathing in “dirty air” filled with harmful substances, is healthless for us.
Most air washers remove contaminants by passing them through a set of filters (such as a pre-filter and activated carbon). In some devices, the cleaning process is more complicated, air ionization allows removing almost 100% of allergens. There are also silica gels, zeolites and filters impregnated with special salts.
